Who We Are:
We recruit, train, and manage volunteers to help provide healthcare resources to schools and community groups serving children in Durham.
We were founded in the fall of 2020 to provide assistance with COVID-19 specific needs like temperature taking and arrival symptom screening.
Over the summer of 2021 we began to move forward with our vision. We still provide medical volunteers to help with supervision of students who become ill during the school day, but are expanding to offer our team of volunteers as a workforce for local partners. Our volunteers work with local groups that provide preventive health services, to amplify the reach of those organizations to Durham children.
Healthcare professionals who volunteer their time during the school day to supervise children who become sick during the day.
Medical and non-medical volunteers who perform vision screenings for community groups and schools. We work in Partnership with Project Sight, who follows up with eye exams and no-cost glasses.
Provide medical and non-medical volunteers to other local groups offering vaccinations and other services to Durham children.
