Volunteer Medical Corps
Who We Are:
We recruit, train, and manage volunteers to help provide healthcare resources to schools and community groups serving children in Durham.
We were founded in the fall of 2020 to provide assistance with COVID-19 specific needs like temperature taking and arrival symptom screening. In 2021 and beyond, our volunteers work with other local non-profits to bring vision screening and free glasses, free sports physicals, and other high-quality preventive health care services to children and adolescents in Durham County.
Medical and non-medical volunteers who perform vision screenings for community groups and schools. We work in Partnership with Project SIGHT, who follows up with eye exams and no-cost glasses.
